Butterflies and embossing

This design was inspired by the Butterflyspotchallenge #40 Butterflies +E = Embossing

Shades of pink seem to be a perennial favourite for feminine-themed cards. Popular current trends in designs of all kinds include butterflies and scrip text. I have combined all these for my card.

Bubblegum cardstock forms the first layer on the card base. Then I used a layer of Pink Mary script printed paper. I cut two circles from silver cardstock and white embossed cardstock from my stash.

After stamping the butterfly on the vellum with Versamark, I heat embossed with seafoam white embossing powder. This particular embossing powder creates such a beautiful, natural look for the details of the butterfly wings.

I fussy cut the butterfly after colouring it at the back with different shades of pink and lilac. The giant butterfly is 'anchored' by taking the ends of its wings right up to the edge of the card.

Flat pearls complete the picture.
